So with expansion comes higher level crafting and a plethora of new things to make. So upcoming system change to crafters is "specialization" at level 55 up to three. Specializing in a crafter class will add new recipes, abilities and possibly exclusive gear. Additionally there will be a "scrip" system which function like tomestones for purchasing things confirmed to buy gear through these but possibly also materials. So its confirmed that to make many if not most of the new items required for FC airship will require crafter specialization. New recipes ususally require new materials which might purchased from crafter scrips but for certain come from gatherers and their new nodes which can't be seen till they spend scrips.

So 3 things will bottle new crafting airship
Spread of specializtions on people through FC
Scrip gains and what they are spent on
High enough/geared enough gatherers

To that end like for people to post what crafters they will specializing in so we preferably get 2-3 people in each craft. Do think carefully about what you pick this isn't about what you want do but what YOU WILL do. We had an issue with FC members where alot of people wanted to be the FC "insert crafter here" but didn't want to put in the time or resources into becoming a 3-4 star crafter. Basic FC airship construction likely won't take OP crafters but higher end airhsip pieces and new gear will take people that actually little dedicated to crafting.

I'm doing CRP, GSM, and ________. Will actually max them out and learn to use their new skills etc. Saving 3rd spot for whatever is needed most. But I'm not doing CUL. lol

I've got GSM and CRP lucis now, as well as maxed gatherers w/lucis (working on fishing).

Several people and by that I mean alot are going Gsm. I'm the only 4star Bsm and Arm in the FC so I'll likely work on them to fill the void.

like Nama said im doing Gsm like everyone else but i can do two other things depending on what FC needs, looks like Wvr and and maybe Arm / Ltw.

Yeah everyone says GSM. It was first DoH I capped in 1.0 so I'm sticking with it tho. Also how many of the "several" that are going GSM are actually 4 star at this point? Half maybe? Ideally I'd do GSM WVR CRP since I was Clothcrafter in XI, but I knew that would be a super popular one too… so I just stuck to GSM and CRP til people sort out what they want to do. Someone needs to step up like a boss and do ALC + CUL + LTH lol

tl;dr - Ess if you don't wanna WVR I totally would love to. Especially if Nama goes BSM/ARM/GSM or w/e. I'm not taking a 3rd to 4 star until I know it'll get used in 3.0. Saving money for xpac stuffs

True. We will see I am sure we will figure it out.

It seems alc is fairly unpopular so that will be my other master

I can try to focus ALC - I just struggle with 3star crafting so I do not want to commit to something that I cannot fulfill. That is honestly why I did not speak up this time….

I am waiting to see if there is some sort of perk or restriction on gear based on what specialization, like green/blue stuff that can only be worn if you have that class chosen. That being said, I will most likely be doing cul and alc for raid supplies either on my main or one of my alts.
